A shield symbolizes the Thymus body type. Shielded from forces that could cause change, protected environments are stable and constant. Resisting change, unless it's their idea, Thymuses are loyal and responsible, committed to protecting their own and keeping their environment constant. |

The Thymus body type is tall to very tall with a long-limbed appearance. Male Thymuses are somewhat lanky and generally 5'11" or taller. Female Thymuses are tall, with weight gain in their lower abdominal and thighs. Both male and female Thymuses may have difficulty gaining or maintaining adequate weight. Thymuses generally have a stable weight pattern and can maintain their ideal weight throughout their life.

Thymuses naturally like to be in control. They characteristically have strong judgmental abilities, are strong-willed, forceful, determined and idealistic perfectionists. Their primary concern is to protect themselves and those they care about. They tend to see everything in "black or white." Although Thymuses tend to intellectualize issues, they are not particularly analytical in their approache to problem-solving and usually initially reject anything new or different. With a need to be at the center of attention and to be "in charge," Thymuses have been known to use their tall stature to subtly intimidate others.

"AT WORST"
|
- Stable, loyal and dependable, Thymuses can be trusted to accomplish what they agree to do.
- Their natural "take charge" attitude helps Thymuses meet challenges and direct others to effective action.
- When they can express unconditional love and acceptance (rather than expecting everything to be "perfect,") Thymuses can be the most powerful and influential of all the types.
|
|
- Thymuses can be the epitome of judgement, control, prejudice and rigidity.
- In their need to "be the best," Thymuses expect perfection from themselves and everyone around them. This trait causes them to "rank" others as better than or less than themselves.
- Constant attention-grabbers, Thymuses will demand attention if they're not centerstage. If they don't get the attention they need, Thymuses will manipulate the situation, pout or take over the situation by being forceful and direct.
