Icon A horseshoe magnet symbolizes the Spleen body type. The spleen reclaims the iron from red blood cells and disseminates energy as needed. Tenacious, Spleen body types provide the sustaining energy to get a job done right.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

ManWomanFemale Spleens have a solid body with wide hips, and their lower body is often a full size larger than their upper body. Their buttocks are rounded to prominent, and their lower back curvature is straight to swayed. They also have small to average hands, often with short fingers. The initial weight gain pattern for female Spleens starts in their lower abdomen, with a secondary gain in the entire upper two-thirds of their thighs, including their upper inner thighs. Their legs often appear chunky, as that's where female Spleens often carry the bulk of their weight and cellulite.

Male Spleens have a striking or distinctive face, with a thick, straight torso. Muscle definition is harder for them to attain, as a soft layer of fat may cover their average musculature. Their calves are average to muscular, and they may also have a natural lower abdominal protrusion that progresses to a lower to entire abdominal paunch.

Social and outgoing, Spleens thrive on helping others. They are superb organizers, and will stay with a project until they get the results they desire. However, that same tenacity may overwhelm some people. Intense and forceful by nature, Spleens may express their ideas so passionately and forcefully that people may perceive them as aggressive. More people- than task-oriented, Spleens are better working with others than independently. This emotional support and structure gives them the motivation they need, and is crucial for successful follow through. Food is seen as sensual comfort, and Spleens will put on large amounts of excess weight when feeling insecure. Spleens can be exceedingly fixed and dogmatic in their beliefs, and may believe that their way of thinking is the "only way." However, when they connect with their spiritual side and feel more secure, they are comfortable opening their hearts and sharing their emotions.

DOMINANT GLAND FUNCTION

BEST RESTAURANT CHOICES

The spleen is located in the upper left abdomen between the stomach and the diaphragm. As the largest organ in the lymphatic system (a major part of the immune system), the spleen serves several functions, including the removal of iron from old red blood cells.

ChineseThe recommended restaurant cuisine for Spleens is Indian, Greek, Middle Eastern, Japanese sushi, Chinese and Thai food. Salad bars are also an excellent choice.

"AT BEST"

"AT WORST"

  • With a strong mental focus, Spleens are good at resolving challenging tasks - especially tasks others view as "impossible.".
  • A loyal friend, Spleens enjoy helping others and will consistently "be there" whenever a need arises.
  • Spleens are highly effective in spearheading social reforms, bringing new awareness to humanity and continually supplying the necessary energy until change is fully accomplished.

  • Domineering, bossy and inflexible, Spleens can be deadly when faced with an opposing view. They may go after the person rather than the view, engaging in harassment and character assassination.
  • Spleens are motivated by the need for security, both financial and emotional. This can cause them to over-focus on their career at the expense of their family or health. When they are feeling insecure, Spleens may resort to overeating.
  • Spleens may charm or seduce people to improve their image. Their fear of people not needing them anymore may cause Spleens to set themselves up in a controlling position or make themselves indispensable.
