The Liver body type typically has a strong, sturdy, healthy body with good stamina and endurance. Women have a dense, solid musculature, often with well-defined, muscular calves, and may wear two sizes of clothing, with the top larger than the bottom. Their torso is broad and thick, with little weight gain in their thighs. Female Livers initially gain weight in their lower to entire abdomen and waist; then the upper, middle and entire back; upper hips and upper inner thigh with a slight gain in the upper 2/3 of their thighs. Male Livers have a solid, thick, stocky appearance with a thick, heavy musculature. Their torso is dominant, thick and straight; their legs are often slender with muscular calves. Men gain their initial weight as a solid musculature in their entire abdomen or as a paunch. There is a solid thickening around their waist and throughout the torso, including back, shoulders and under the chin. Both men and women have a short, thick neck with a tendency towards a double chin.

Livers are known for their excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when they're in the flow of life. Noted for putting pieces together and fitting them into the day's flow, Livers can view problems systematically and efficiently. Tough and resilient, Livers have the physical endurance to complete any job and enjoy the fruits of their labor. Children and family are extremely important, and they place a high value on loyalty and stability. Friends are also important, as Livers are people lovers and enjoy social situations. The Liver type needs to be needed, and giving of themselves makes them feel fulfilled. They are, however, not as skilled at nurturing themselves. If their background reflects low self-esteem or family dysfunction, Livers can get trapped in codependent relationships, compulsive or addictive behaviors. Excellent teachers, Livers are most rewarded when they transfer knowledge to others.

- Patient and genuinely concerned with others, Livers are excellent teachers and find it their most rewarding endeavor.
- Job satisfaction is more important than monetary reward. If Livers don't feel they're sufficiently appreciated at work, they'll have the courage to move on and find a job where their ideas and efforts are rewarded.
- Liver types are in tune with life and its natural flow. As such, they seem to know what needs to be done and how to organize it with the day's events. This "being in the flow" gives them the gift of being able to sense things about people, places and things.

- Physically strong and emotionally based, Livers have a compelling need to experience life. However, a "do it first, think about it later" attitude (especially when young) leads to impulsiveness and rashness.
- Because Livers are such strong nurturers and tend to ignore their own needs, they often mistakenly believe that if they take care of someone, that person will naturally take care of them. This is especially noticeable in Livers who, in the past, were deprived of nurturing support or emotional intimacy.
- Livers are prone to compulsive or addictive behaviors, and are at high risk for alcoholism and eating disorders.
